New Delhi: On the occasion of Mahatma Gandhi’s death anniversary on Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid homage to the Father of the Nation, underscoring Gandhi’s emphasis on ‘swadeshi’ as a guiding principle for a developed and self-reliant India.
In a post on X, the Prime Minister said, “My tribute to the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, on his death anniversary. His personality and deeds will forever continue to inspire the people of the country to walk the path of duty.”
PM Modi noted that Gandhi consistently stressed the importance of swadeshi, which aligns with the government’s vision of a self-sufficient and progressive India.
India observes Martyrs’ Day on January 30 every year to honor Gandhi’s life, legacy, and his ultimate sacrifice for peace, justice, and freedom.
