Rajouri: Security forces have stepped up their anti-terror operation in the forested areas of Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district, with the search entering its eleventh consecutive day amid efforts to trace and eliminate militants believed to be hiding in the region.
Officials said troops have expanded the area under surveillance and intensified combing operations across dense forest stretches, rugged hill slopes and remote locations that present significant operational challenges. Security personnel are carrying out systematic searches while maintaining a strong presence across key routes and vulnerable pockets.
The operation is being conducted under a multi-layered security framework to ensure that the suspected terrorists do not manage to slip through the cordon. Forces have deployed additional resources and are closely monitoring movement in and around the affected zone.
According to officials, teams on the ground are working round the clock despite difficult terrain and adverse conditions. Search parties are thoroughly scanning forest belts, natural hideouts and inaccessible areas where militants may be attempting to evade detection.
Security agencies have also strengthened surveillance measures and established checkpoints in strategic locations as part of efforts to restrict movement and prevent any possible escape.
Authorities stated that the objective remains to locate the terrorists and bring the operation to a successful conclusion while ensuring the safety of civilians in nearby areas. Residents have been advised to remain vigilant and cooperate with security personnel whenever required.
The prolonged operation highlights the determination of security forces to maintain pressure on militant elements and safeguard peace in the region. Officials reiterated that the search will continue until all leads are fully investigated and the threat is neutralised.
