NEW DELHI — Indian law enforcement authorities have successfully intercepted the country’s first-ever shipment of Captagon, a highly addictive synthetic stimulant frequently referred to as the “Jihadi Drug.” Union Home Minister Amit Shah announced on Saturday that the massive illicit consignment, valued at approximately Rs 182 crore, was seized during a strategic operation codenamed “Operation RAGEPILL.”

In a statement published on the social media platform X, the Home Minister reconfirmed the central government’s unwavering commitment to establishing a drug-free nation. The high-value narcotics shipment, which was bound for destination markets in the Middle East, was intercepted by the Narcotics Control Bureau before it could exit the region. A foreign national has been arrested by security personnel as investigations into the cross-border smuggling network continue.

Shah highly praised the investigative vigour and alertness displayed by the anti-narcotics officers during the successful sting centre. Reaffirming a strict policy of zero tolerance against organized narcotic cartels, the minister emphasized that security forces will continue to dismantle any attempt to utilize Indian territory as a transit route for global drug distribution networks.
