Delhi: Delhi Police have apprehended the alleged mastermind behind the recent shooting incident involving advocate Deepak Khatri, who is known to represent jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi.
The arrest was made nearly a week after gunmen opened fire at a vehicle carrying Khatri and his associates in north Delhi. The attack occurred late at night near the Marghat Wale Hanuman Temple, close to the Kashmere Gate ISBT area.
Officials identified the accused as Rohit Solanki, stating that preliminary investigations suggest he played a central role in both planning and carrying out the assault on February 25. Police sources indicated that multiple rounds were fired at the car, though no fatalities were reported in the incident.
Investigators are examining possible motives behind the attack, including rivalry between criminal networks. Authorities have also launched efforts to identify and apprehend other individuals believed to be involved in the conspiracy.
Security around legal professionals associated with high-profile cases has been reviewed following the shooting. Police said further details would be shared as the probe progresses.
