Rudraprayag: Pilgrims heading towards Kedarnath have faced another disruption after rain-triggered debris and stones blocked a section of the pedestrian route near the Chirbasa helipad in Uttarakhand’s Rudraprayag district.
According to the district administration, the blockage has disrupted movement along the important pilgrimage route. Restoration work has already been taken up, with teams engaged in clearing the accumulated debris and stones.
As a precautionary measure, the administration has temporarily stopped the movement of pilgrims from Sonprayag and Gaurikund. The decision has been taken keeping in view the safety of devotees travelling towards the Kedarnath shrine.
Officials said the situation is being closely monitored, with regular assessments of weather conditions and the condition of the pilgrimage route.
Pilgrim movement is expected to resume only after the route is considered safe for travel.
