New Delhi: The results of JEE (Advanced) 2026 were declared on Monday, bringing relief and celebration for thousands of engineering aspirants across the country. A total of 56,880 candidates successfully qualified in one of India’s most competitive entrance examinations, paving the way for admissions to the prestigious Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).
Among the successful candidates, 10,107 are female students, reflecting a continued rise in women’s participation in the country’s premier engineering entrance test.
This year’s examination witnessed an impressive performance from candidates belonging to the IIT Delhi zone, which dominated the top positions in the Common Rank List (CRL). Shubham Kumar emerged as the national topper by securing 330 marks out of a possible 360, earning the top rank in the examination.
The second position was claimed by Kabir Chhillar, also from the IIT Delhi zone, who scored 329 marks. Jatin Chahar completed the top three with 319 marks, making it a clean sweep for the IIT Delhi region at the highest level of the merit list.
In the female category, Arohi Deshpande from the IIT Delhi zone emerged as the highest-ranked woman candidate. She secured an All India Rank of 77 in the Common Rank List after scoring 280 marks out of 360.
The announcement marks the beginning of the next phase for qualified candidates, who will now participate in the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) counselling process for admission to IITs and other premier technical institutions across the country.
Education experts noted that the results once again underline the intense competition associated with JEE (Advanced), an examination considered among the toughest engineering entrance tests globally.
For thousands of students, the outcome represents the culmination of years of preparation, dedication and hard work, while also opening the doors to some of India’s most sought-after engineering programmes.
