New Delhi — India and the European Union on Tuesday explored avenues to integrate their defence supply chains as part of a broader effort to strengthen bilateral strategic and security cooperation.
The issue was discussed during a meeting between Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and the European Union’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas. The interaction focused on expanding cooperation in defence manufacturing, security coordination and building resilient, future-ready defence capabilities.
In a post on social media platform X, Rajnath Singh said the discussions covered a wide range of bilateral defence and security matters, including opportunities for integrating supply chains to develop trusted defence ecosystems. He expressed optimism about deeper collaboration between India and EU member states in the coming years.
The meeting comes ahead of the India-EU summit talks, where strategic, economic and security-related issues are expected to feature prominently. The engagement reflects growing convergence between India and the European Union on regional and global security challenges, as well as shared interest in enhancing defence industrial cooperation.
Both sides have been steadily expanding defence dialogue in recent years, with an emphasis on technology sharing, joint development and strengthening supply chain resilience amid evolving geopolitical dynamics.
