Balotra (Rajasthan): In a tragic road accident, four brothers lost their lives after a head-on collision between a Rajasthan Roadways bus and a car in Balotra district on Tuesday, police said.
The accident took place near the Goliya-Pareu circle under the Pachpadra police station limits when a bus travelling from Barmer to Jodhpur collided with the car carrying the victims.
The impact of the collision was so severe that the car was completely mangled, leaving all four occupants trapped inside the wreckage.
Local residents rushed to the spot and, after considerable effort, pulled the injured victims out of the damaged vehicle. They were immediately shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Doctors at Patodi Hospital declared two of the brothers dead on arrival, while the remaining two, who were critically injured, were referred to Nahata Hospital in Balotra. However, both succumbed to their injuries while being shifted, police confirmed.
The deceased have been identified as Uda Ram (39), Rekha Ram (35), Joga Ram (31) and Vishan Ram (29). All four were brothers and worked as labourers. They were reportedly on their way to work when the fatal accident occurred.
Following the incident, anger erupted among local villagers, who blocked the Pareu road by placing stones and bushes, disrupting traffic movement in the area.
Station House Officer Geeta Kumari reached the site along with a police team and later managed to pacify the protesters, convincing them to clear the blockade and restore traffic flow.
Police have registered a case and initiated an investigation to determine the exact cause of the collision.
