New Delhi: The Enforcement Directorate has filed chargesheets in two separate money-laundering cases involving companies and former senior executives connected to the Reliance Anil Ambani Group. The legal actions were submitted before special Prevention of Money Laundering Act courts in New Delhi, targeting alleged financial irregularities, diversion of public funds, and systemic loan defaults amounting to tens of thousands of crores.

In the first case, a prosecution complaint was lodged before a special court in Dwarka against Reliance Infrastructure Limited and former group executive Sateesh Seth. The investigation originates from a Mumbai Police Economic Offences Wing case alleging the fraudulent use of shell companies and forged documents to route funds under fictitious over-valued diamond exports. According to federal investigators, an organized scheme diverted approximately 187 crore rupees from four National Highways Authority of India toll-road projects, utilizing sham arrangements and shell entities to layer transfers. Authorities have already attached immovable assets and equity shares associated with the entity.

The second legal filing involves a supplementary chargesheet submitted before the Rouse Avenue special court concerning Reliance Communications Limited. The agency named Reliance Communications, Reliance Telecom Limited, and former executives including Sateesh Seth, Gautam Doshi, and Amitabh Jhunjhunwala as accused. Arising from preliminary investigations by the Central Bureau of Investigation, the agency alleges that fresh credit facilities were repeatedly misused to service earlier domestic and foreign liabilities rather than their approved operational purposes. The total proceeds of crime in the Reliance Communications case have been quantified at 40,185 crore rupees, with attached assets valued at over 8,000 crore rupees.
