NEW DELHI — State-owned oil marketing companies have announced an upward revision in the prices of commercial liquefied petroleum gas cylinders effective September 1, 2026, marking the latest monthly adjustment driven by international fuel benchmark movements. Under the revised price schedule, the cost of a 19-kilogram commercial LPG cylinder increased by 9.50 rupees in the national capital, pushing the retail price in New Delhi to 2,747.50 rupees.
The latest revision follows two consecutive months of price reductions recorded in July and August. Commercial rates across major metropolitan centres saw corresponding adjustments, with prices rising to 2,701 rupees in Mumbai, 2,884 rupees in Kolkata, and 2,916.50 rupees in Chennai. Meanwhile, rates for subsidized and non-subsidized 14.2-kilogram domestic cylinders have remained unchanged, providing continuous price stability for household consumers across the country.
The price adjustment primarily affects commercial establishments such as restaurants, hotels, bakeries, dhabas, and catering businesses that rely heavily on commercial gas connections. Industry observers note that while the single-cylinder hike remains modest, cumulative operational fuel expenses could increase for large-scale hospitality enterprises, potentially influencing dining and prepared food costs if input pressures persist over the coming festive quarter.
