Palghar: A tragic incident unfolded in Palghar East on Friday when a chemical explosion at a small manufacturing facility resulted in the death of one worker and left four others injured. The blast occurred at Limbani Salt Industries, a modest-scale unit engaged in producing laboratory-grade chemicals.

According to officials from Palghar Police, the incident took place during regular working hours when five employees were present inside the unit. The cause of the explosion is yet to be determined, but initial assessments suggest it may have been triggered during a routine chemical mixing process.

One Dead, Four Hospitalised

Emergency responders arrived at the site shortly after the explosion was reported. One worker was declared dead at the scene, while the remaining four sustained injuries of varying severity. They were immediately rushed to nearby medical facilities and are currently under treatment.

“The factory was a small setup focused on laboratory chemicals. Five workers were inside at the time. Sadly, one person lost his life. The others are receiving medical care,” a police spokesperson confirmed.

Investigation Underway

Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the blast. Forensic teams and safety inspectors are expected to visit the scene to assess compliance with industrial safety standards.

Fire and emergency services managed to bring the situation under control before the explosion could spread or cause further damage to nearby establishments.
