New Delhi— Authorities received a bomb threat on Thursday targeting Air India’s flight AI188 from Toronto to Delhi, but the aircraft landed safely in the national capital without incident, officials confirmed.

According to sources, Delhi Police received a message in the morning claiming that the Toronto–Delhi flight carried a bomb. Following standard procedure, the Bomb Threat Assessment Committee (BTAC) was immediately formed at Delhi airport. After evaluation, officials determined the threat to be “non-specific.”

An Air India spokesperson said that a security alert was received while the flight was en route from Toronto to Delhi. “On-board crew carried out all prescribed security drills, keeping passenger safety and security as the top priority,” the spokesperson stated.

The airline confirmed that the flight landed safely at Indira Gandhi International Airport and was moved to a designated bay for mandatory security checks as per established aviation protocol. All passengers and crew members have safely disembarked, and security agencies are conducting thorough inspections of the aircraft.
