Bengaluru: The Women Protection Wing of the Bengaluru Police’s Central Crime Branch (CCB) has dismantled a prostitution racket operating across multiple locations in the city, leading to the arrest of four individuals. The arrests, announced on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, include three women who allegedly orchestrated the illegal trade. During the coordinated operation, police successfully rescued six women who had been forced or induced into the racket. The raids were carried out following precise intelligence gathered by informants regarding illicit activities being conducted under the guise of legitimate businesses.

The investigation revealed that the accused were running the racket from spas located in the Marathahalli and Sunkadakatte areas, as well as a private residence in Manjunatha Nagar. According to a statement from the Bengaluru Police, the organizers used mobile phones to contact potential clients and invited them to these locations. The rescued victims were reportedly held at these sites and pressured into the trade for the monetary gain of the handlers. The four accused have been produced before a local court and are currently in judicial custody as the investigation continues into their broader network.

In connection with these raids, formal cases have been registered at the HAL, Byadarahalli, and Bagalagunte police stations. This crackdown is part of an intensified effort by the CCB to monitor wellness centres and spas, which have increasingly been used as fronts for human trafficking in the city. Authorities have indicated that further inspections will be conducted across East and North Bengaluru to ensure compliance with trade licenses and to prevent the exploitation of vulnerable women.
