Manali: Manali turned into a postcard-perfect winter destination after a fresh spell of snowfall late Sunday night coated the popular hill station in a pristine white layer, drawing enthusiastic crowds of tourists eager to soak in the season’s charm.

Visitors were seen strolling through snow-covered streets, clicking photographs and indulging in winter activities as gentle flakes continued to fall, adding to the festive mood. Many tourists described the experience as memorable, noting that the snowfall enhanced the natural beauty of the region.

Ajit Singh, a visitor from Chandigarh, said the weather conditions were ideal for travel and enjoyment. He dismissed concerns about disruptions, encouraging families to visit Manali and experience the snowfall firsthand. “The temperature had dipped sharply earlier, but with fresh snow, the atmosphere has become even more enjoyable,” he remarked.

Another tourist, Vijay Singh, called the snowfall one of the most impressive he had witnessed in Manali. “Weather forecasts had predicted snow, but seeing it in person is a completely different feeling. It’s a wonderful experience for anyone who wants to enjoy winter at its best,” he said.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said the snowfall is part of a broader weather pattern affecting the western Himalayan region. According to the department, two western disturbances are influencing weather conditions, bringing light to moderate rain and snow across the hills and scattered rainfall in parts of northwest and central India between February 1 and 3. A third western disturbance is expected to impact the region from February 5 to 7.

IMD officials also warned of possible thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds, with speeds reaching up to 50 kmph in some areas of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand during the ongoing spell.

With winter conditions intensifying, authorities have advised travellers to remain cautious while enjoying the snow-laden landscapes, as Manali continues to charm visitors with its seasonal transformation.
