Dharamshala (Himachal Pradesh): A late-night fire broke out at the Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation’s Hotel Dhauladhar in Dharamshala, prompting a swift emergency response from district authorities. Officials confirmed that there were no casualties and all guests were safely evacuated.
A senior officer said four fire tenders were immediately dispatched to the site and managed to control the flames quickly. An SDRF team was also deployed as a precaution. District officials and police personnel reached the hotel within minutes, assisting in the evacuation of tourists and securing the premises. Kangra Deputy Commissioner Hemraj Bairwa said the fire started in the hotel kitchen and spread rapidly to other parts of the structure.
He explained that the building, constructed in 1978, had a roof made of Deodar wood, which allowed the flames to intensify. He added that firefighters reached the hotel within five minutes and brought the blaze under control without any loss of life. Authorities will soon assess the damage and determine the cause of the fire.
Further updates are awaited.
