Hisar: Haryanvi singer Masoom Sharma has been accused of abusing a fan and deliberately damaging his mobile phone during a New Year’s Eve musical programme in Hisar, prompting a police complaint.

According to the complaint, the incident took place on December 31 at a bhajan sandhya organised at Tulip Resort on Tosham Road in Hisar. The event was arranged by organiser Sajal Jain, who had invited Masoom Sharma to perform on the occasion.

The complainant, identified as Rinku, a resident of Multani Chowk, said he had attended the programme with his family. He stated that the event proceeded smoothly until the performance ended and the singer began leaving the venue.

Rinku alleged that several people were taking photographs with the singer at that time, and he also approached Sharma to take a selfie. During this interaction, the singer allegedly snatched his iPhone and threw it on the ground, causing the device to break completely.

In his complaint, Rinku further claimed that after damaging the phone, Masoom Sharma verbally abused him and behaved aggressively. When Rinku protested, the singer allegedly continued to hurl abuses. People present at the venue later intervened and managed to calm the situation.

Rinku has lodged a formal complaint against Masoom Sharma and the event management at the Azad Nagar police station in Hisar. Police officials said they are examining the complaint and are in the process of speaking to both parties to ascertain the facts.

No arrest has been made so far, and further action will be taken after verification of the allegations, the police added.
