Chandigarh: As Punjab reels under a severe flood crisis triggered by heavy rainfall and overflowing dams, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has extended a hand of solidarity and support to the neighboring state. In a letter addressed to Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, CM Saini expressed concern over the devastation caused by the floods and assured full cooperation in relief and rescue efforts.
Conveying empathy for the people of Punjab, Saini wrote, “I am deeply saddened to learn about the difficulties arising due to the flood situation in Punjab. Our brothers and sisters of Punjab are suffering a lot in this natural disaster.”

He further stated that both the Haryana government and its people stand with Punjab during this challenging time. Offering a range of assistance, including relief supplies, rescue teams, and medical aid, the Haryana Chief Minister emphasized that his administration is prepared to provide immediate help wherever needed.
“If you need any kind of help—relief material, rescue team, medical assistance or other resources—please do not hesitate to let me know,” the letter read.
CM Saini also reassured his Punjab counterpart that Haryana is committed to aiding flood-affected communities swiftly and effectively. “Our aim is to provide relief to every person affected in this hour of crisis as soon as possible,” he added.
The gesture comes as multiple districts in Punjab, including Pathankot, Gurdaspur, and Ferozepur, remain submerged due to the rising waters of the Pong and Ranjit Sagar dams. Rescue and relief operations are underway, with thousands displaced and several fatalities reported.
CM Saini’s outreach has been widely viewed as a much-needed example of inter-state cooperation during natural disasters, emphasizing the importance of unity and mutual support in times of crisis.
