Ambala (Haryana): Several schools in Ambala received bomb threat emails on Monday, prompting police to launch extensive security checks across the affected premises.
Seema Dutt, Principal of Riverside DAV Public School, Ambala Cantt, confirmed that police teams carried out inspections at the school following the receipt of an anonymous email. She said authorities have been placed on high alert.
“We informed the police immediately after receiving the anonymous email. Police personnel reached the school and conducted a thorough inspection. We are on alert. A total of three schools received similar emails,” Dutt said, adding that further details are awaited.
Police officials stated that necessary precautionary measures were taken to ensure the safety of students and staff. Bomb disposal squads and security personnel were deployed to examine the premises, and investigations are underway to trace the source of the threat.
Earlier, on December 10, multiple schools in Delhi had also received bomb threat emails, leading authorities to initiate emergency protocols. Schools had issued notices to parents requesting them to collect their children as a precautionary step.
The notices outlined a phased dispersal of students to prevent panic and ensure orderly evacuation. Delhi Police had confirmed that the threat emails were received by the schools around the same time.
Following searches conducted by police teams, bomb disposal squads, and sniffer dogs, no suspicious objects were found at the Delhi school premises, officials had said.
