Chandigarh: Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Monday reaffirmed his government’s commitment to inclusive development and women empowerment, stating that women journalists are powerful voices shaping the democratic narrative of the nation. Interacting with members of the Women Journalists Welfare Trust in New Delhi, he praised their courage, professionalism and dedication, saying they embody the growing strength of “Nari Shakti” in modern India. He added that the Haryana government remains committed to transparent and welfare-oriented governance while staying responsive to issues raised through the media.

Highlighting the vision of a developed India, the Chief Minister said Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “Viksit Bharat” mission is built on the pillars of women, youth, farmers and the underprivileged. He pointed to initiatives such as the Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao campaign, women-led Self Help Groups (SHGs), Atal Canteens and the Namo Drone Didi programme as examples of Haryana’s efforts to empower women socially and economically. He also noted that women are receiving greater opportunities for financial independence through government support and community-based initiatives.

The Chief Minister further outlined key welfare and infrastructure projects, including a monthly financial assistance scheme of ₹2,100 for women and a major drinking water pipeline project for Gurugram and Nuh. On the SYL issue, he said discussions with the Union Government are ongoing. He reiterated that Haryana will continue its development journey with a focus on empowerment, transparency and inclusive growth.
