Lady Governor distributes fruits and sweets at mental rehabilitation centre

SHIMLA: Lady Governor and Chairperson of the Himachal Pradesh State Red Cross Hospital Welfare Section Bindu Gupta visited the Himachal Hospital of Mental Health And Rehabilitation at Boileauganj near Shimla on Monday. She interacted with patients undergoing treatment at the centre and distributed sweets and fruits among the patients and also enquired about their well-being. She reviewed the facilities and care being provided at the rehabilitation centre.

Expressing satisfaction over the services available at the institution, Bindu Gupta said that members of the Himachal Pradesh State Red Cross Hospital Welfare Branch regularly visit such centres and remain committed to the service of humanity through Red Cross activities. She said that the Red Cross is always ready to extend support and assistance to the patients and underprivileged sections of society.

The Lady Governor also provided financial assistance of Rs. 5,000 to three rehabilitated patients through the Himachal Pradesh State Red Cross Hospital Welfare Section. The beneficiaries, belonging to Jharkhand and Bihar, who have recovered after treatment were provided travel assistance to help them return safely to their respective home states.

Later, Medical Superintendent of the Centre Dr. Surekha Chopra briefed the lady Governor about the functioning of the institution and the treatment facilities being provided to the patients. She also held a meeting with the staff of the centre and issued necessary directions regarding patient care and welfare services.
