Chandigarh: Giving top priority to quality education and community participation in Punjab government schools, a significant campaign has been launched under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann and the initiative of Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains. The School Education Department is now organizing a comprehensive series of workshops called ‘Parents’ Participation’ in all schools across the state, aiming to revolutionize the education sector in collaboration with School Management Committees (SMCs).

Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann expressed his commitment to this initiative, saying, “The government is not only building magnificent school buildings, but also creating a strong education system that will brighten the future of children. The government believes that the active participation of parents is the most important key to realizing this dream.”

Highlighting the objectives of this initiative, senior officials stated that the primary purpose of these workshops is to fully empower parents. They said, “The government wants every parent to have clear information about their child’s academic progress, the contribution of government schools, and their role in school development. This effort will build an unbreakable bridge between home and school for the holistic development of children.”

The first session of this important campaign will begin soon. The workshop series will be formally launched with a statewide Mega PTM (Mega PTM) on December 20, 2025, enabling direct and effective communication between parents and teachers.

The department has developed a robust four-tier training framework to ensure that this vital information reaches every corner of the state. Training will begin with training top master trainers at the state level, after which the process will progress to train teachers at the district and then block levels. Finally, in the fourth and final phase of this process, workshops will be held directly for all parents at the school level. This reflects the vision of CM Mann and Minister Bains to prioritize community participation to make government schools the best educational institutions in the country.
