Shimla: Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has expressed grief over the death of former Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Raja Vijyendra Singh, who passed away at Delhi on Wednesday morning.
The Chief Minister said that Raja Vijyendra Singh contributed immensely for the development of the state particularly for Nalagarh Assembly constituency of Solan district. He said that his contributions made for the welfare of the society would be remembered by the people for a long period.
The Chief Minister prayed to the Almighty to give peace to the departed soul and strength to the bereaved family members to bear this irreparable loss. Raja Vijrendra Singh was elected to Himachal Pradesh Vidhan Sabha in 1977, 1982, 1985, 1990 and 1993.
He remained Chief Parliamentary Secretary from May, 1982 to April, 1983. He also served as the Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare in 1983-84 and 1988-89.
