Chandigarh: Haryana Energy, Transport and Labour Minister, Anil Vij said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “Mann Ki Baat” programme connects people living in every corner of the country, in different regions and under different circumstances. Through this programme, people in the west learn what is happening in the east, and people in the north learn what is happening in the west, so everyone can see each other’s work, draw inspiration, and move forward. He said the Prime Minister also mentioned the approaching festival month, which is very important; during this month we must adopt “Local for Vocal” and purchase goods made in the country.
The Energy Minister was speaking to reporters on Sunday after listening to the Mann Ki Baat programme at Ambala Cantt. Development & Panchayat Minister, Krishan Lal Panwar was also present on this occasion.
Anil Vij said that there was a time when Doordarshan aired the Ramayan serial; the roads would be empty, and everyone would gather somewhere to watch it. Similarly, now people wait to listen to and watch the Mann Ki Baat programme held on the last Sunday of the month by the country’s popular Prime Minister, Narendra Modi.
On this occasion, the Energy Minister also said that the Prime Minister has said the festival month is coming, and during this period we should take the pledge of Local for Vocal. In the upcoming festivals like Diwali and other occasions, we should resolve to buy goods made in India. The day we all buy Local for Vocal — i.e., goods made in India — the country will progress. Its slogan will be Local for Vocal.
