Chandigarh: Haryana Chief Minister, Nayab Singh Saini, on Monday, said that every member must uphold the dignity of the House and use the forum for constructive debate on Haryana’s development and issues of public interest rather than sloganeering.

Responding to Leader of the Opposition Bhupinder Singh Hooda during the ongoing Vidhan Sabha session, Chief Minister described him as a senior and respected member of the House.

The Chief Minister emphasised that he holds Bhupinder Singh Hooda in high regard and had no intention of disrespecting him. He said that the remarks in question should be seen in the context of the complete proceedings.

The sloganeering continued even after the Vidhan Sabha Speaker offered the members an opportunity to view the relevant video in his chamber, said Nayab Singh Saini, Clarifying his remarks, the Chief Minister said that Congress members had repeatedly accused the other side of “hooliganism”. His response, he said, was confined to stating that the “hooliganism” was not from his side but from theirs.
