Chandigarh: Haryana Energy Minister Anil Vij said that all iron poles, including tubular poles and channel poles, will be replaced with PCC poles by the Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam Limited (UHBVNL) at its own cost. However, as per the directions of the corporation, rail poles are not replaced at the corporation’s expense.

Vij was replying to a question raised during the Monsoon Session of the Haryana Vidhan Sabha in Chandigarh today. He informed the House that there are no HT/LT iron poles installed within the villages of Guldehra and ThaskaMiranji in the Pehowa Assembly constituency.

He further stated that since 2014, no incident of loss of life due to electric shock from iron poles has been reported in these villages. The Minister said that the remaining 91 iron poles will be replaced with PCC poles by the corporation by January 2027.
