Chandigarh: Haryana Social Justice and Empowerment Minister, Krishan Kumar Bedi, said that the Divyangjan Pension Scheme is being implemented to provide social security to persons with disabilities. The primary objective of the scheme is to provide social security to persons with disabilities who are unable to sustain themselves with their own resources and require financial assistance from the State Government.
He said that 2,07,104 eligible persons with 60 percent or more disability are being provided a pension at the rate of Rs. 3,200 per month under the Divyangjan Pension Scheme. Eligible beneficiaries are added to the list every month through the District Social Welfare Officer concerned.
No Age Limit for Persons with Haemophilia, Thalassaemia and Sickle Cell Anaemia
Krishan Kumar Bedi said that no age limit applies to persons suffering from haemophilia, thalassaemia and sickle cell anaemia for availing benefits under the Divyangjan Pension Scheme. However, the applicant’s annual income from all sources should not exceed Rs. 3 lakh.
