Chandigarh: A national-level deliberation will be held on making roads in Haryana better, safer and more convenient, as well as on the effective use of modern technology in road construction. Haryana Public Works Minister Ranbir Gangwa, along with officials of the Public Works Department, will participate in the National Chintan Shivir to be held on October 5 and 6 at Ekta Nagar, Narmada, Gujarat. Organised by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, the Chintan Shivir will be attended by Ministers and senior officials of road and highway departments from various states in the presence of Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari.
Ranbir Gangwa said that the Chintan Shivir will discuss new technologies, modern working methods and successful practices being adopted by various states in the field of road construction and maintenance. Experiences related to road projects in Haryana and challenges encountered during project implementation will also be shared. At the same time, information will be gathered about modern technologies and better working practices being adopted in other states, so that useful options suited to Haryana’s requirements can be considered.
He said that states will also share their experiences on ensuring quality in road construction, strengthening monitoring of works and measures to complete projects within the stipulated time. Ways to expedite road projects through better coordination between the Centre and the states will also be deliberated upon.
He said that the experiences and technical information emerging from the Chintan Shivir will be studied in accordance with Haryana’s requirements, and further consideration will be given to the possibilities of adopting options useful for the state.
