HBPE Chairman Pays Tribute to Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri

Chandigarh: On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, Chairman, Haryana Bureau of Public Enterprises (HBPE), Mohan Lal Badoli, paid floral tributes to the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, and Bharat Ratna and former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri at his residence in Sector-15, Sonipat, today.

Speaking on the occasion, Badoli said that Mahatma Gandhi propagated the ideals of truth, non-violence and cleanliness, while Lal Bahadur Shastri exemplified simplicity, integrity and dedicated service to the nation. The lives and ideals of both great leaders would continue to inspire the people of the country, he added.

Later, Badoli participated in a cleanliness drive at Gandhi Chowk, Sector-14, Sonipat. Mayor of the Municipal Corporation, Rajiv Jain, also participated in the programme. Badoli said that cleanliness is not the responsibility of any individual or institution alone, but a collective responsibility of every citizen. He urged the people to actively contribute towards keeping Sonipat clean, hygienic and beautiful.

He also appealed to the people to promote the plantation of medicinal plants, particularly species such as Nirgundi, and contribute towards creating a greener and healthier environment.
