Chandigarh: The Haryana Government has appointed senior IAS officer Pankaj Yadav as the Officer-in-Charge of Sonipat district, entrusting him with the additional responsibility alongside his existing assignments.
The order in this regard has been issued by Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi. Pankaj Yadav is currently serving as Principal Secretary, Cooperation Department; Principal Secretary, Public Health Engineering Department; Principal Resident Commissioner, Haryana Bhawan, New Delhi; and Chairperson, Haryana Water Resources Authority. He will continue to hold these responsibilities while overseeing the work related to Sonipat district.
As Officer-in-Charge of Sonipat district, Pankaj Yadav will be responsible for reviewing all development projects costing ₹25 crore and above, monitoring the overall law and order situation, including incidents of crime and heinous offences, and reviewing vigilance matters, particularly cases requiring clearance under Sections 17A and 19 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988. He will also assess the effectiveness of service delivery under the Haryana Right to Service Act, undertake a broad review of the functioning of the Health, Education and Social Sectors, and examine issues and impediments faced by the Deputy Excise and Taxation Commissioner (DETC) in matters relating to GST and other taxes. In addition, he may interact with MLAs and other public representatives in the presence of the Deputy Commissioner and Superintendent of Police and may also visit one important site each related to the Health and Education Departments during his district review.
