Chandigarh: In a major relief to students seeking admission to colleges across Haryana, the State Government has extended the last date for the centralised online admission process for the first year of undergraduate courses to September 15, 2026.

Divulging more details, Haryana Education Minister Mahipal Dhanda said the department had received several requests from colleges, public representatives and students to reopen the admission portal and extend the deadline. He said several students could not apply within the stipulated period due to technical or other reasons. Keeping in view the future of the youth and the need to ensure equal opportunities in education, the State Government has taken this student-friendly decision.

As per the orders issued, Registrars of all State Universities and Principals of government colleges, government-aided colleges and self-financing colleges across Haryana have been directed to implement the decision with immediate effect.

The Education Minister said the Haryana Government is committed to ensuring that no deserving student in the State is deprived of higher education. With the extension of the deadline, all remaining eligible students will now have an opportunity to complete their admission process through the portal by September 15.

Mahipal Dhanda urged students not to wait until the last date and to complete their admission formalities well in time
