Chandigarh: Haryana Minister of State for Sports and Youth Empowerment, Gaurav Gautam, said that the government is committed to providing the best possible facilities to farmers during the crop procurement process. He said that necessary directions have been issued to officials of the concerned departments to ensure that farmers do not face any inconvenience while selling their produce at grain markets.
He visited the grain market and reviewed the arrangements, including electronic weighing scales, and also checked the moisture content of the crop. He said that farmers and commission agents would not be allowed to face any inconvenience during the crop procurement process.
He said that the government’s endeavour is to ensure that farmers can sell their produce at the market smoothly and receive better facilities. He directed officials to ensure that every farmer visiting the grain market is treated with respect and that the crop procurement process is completed in a time-bound manner.
Thereafter, the Minister of State for Sports also visited the Atal Kisan Canteen. He personally checked the quality of food being provided to farmers at the canteen. He reviewed the quality of food, cleanliness and facilities available to farmers and sought information about the arrangements from the concerned staff. He directed that clean, nutritious and quality food be provided to farmers at the canteen and that special attention be paid to cleanliness.
