Chandigarh: Haryana’s Minister for Panchayats, Development and Mining, Krishan Lal Panwar, visited the modern grain market in Israna on Tuesday to review arrangements for paddy procurement. He gave clear directions to the concerned procurement agencies and officials that farmers should not face any inconvenience at the market and that every single grain of farmers’ produce must be procured.
He directed officials to ensure timely lifting of procured produce, cleanliness, security and all necessary facilities for farmers, along with smooth procurement operations. Cabinet Minister Krishan Lal Panwar said that the Chief Minister has given clear directions that every single grain of farmers’ produce should be procured and that farmers should not face any inconvenience at the market.
The Minister also checked the moisture content of paddy using a modern moisture meter and reviewed the procurement process. He appealed to farmers to bring their paddy to the market only after drying it properly. He said that lower moisture content in the produce would expedite the procurement process and also benefit the farmers.
Farmers, representatives of various procurement agencies and concerned officials were present on the occasion.
