Chandigarh: Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, paying tribute to Ashok Singhal Ji, said that he devoted his talent, time and entire life to awakening India’s cultural consciousness. He also played an important role in taking the Shree Ram Janmabhoomi movement to different parts of the country through extensive public outreach and organisational efforts.
The Chief Minister said this while addressing the inaugural ceremony of the birth centenary year of Ashok Singhal Ji, organised by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad at Gurugram University on Sunday. Earlier, he also visited an exhibition on the life and contribution of Ashok Singhal Ji at the university campus.
Life of Ashok Singhal Ji: A Source of Inspiration for Youth
The Chief Minister said that the lives of some great personalities are such that their inspiration becomes deeper with the passage of time. Their ideals provide direction to future generations, while their sacrifices give strength to society. The life of Ashok Singhal Ji is also a great lesson for the youth. Instead of pursuing opportunities for personal advancement, he chose to dedicate his knowledge and abilities to the service of society.
Calls Upon Youth to Understand India’s Knowledge Tradition
The Chief Minister said that understanding one’s traditions, asking questions, reading original texts and engaging in dialogue with scholars enriches the personality of young people. Knowledge of one’s heritage instils confidence and inspires one to learn from the world and contribute something new to it. He said that only a tree with strong roots can rise high towards the sky.
Taking forward his resolve associated with the Shree Krishna Janmabhoomi Temple in Mathura and the Shree Kashi Vishwanath Temple in Kashi would be a true tribute to Ashok Singhal Ji. It is the responsibility of society to strengthen awareness about Indian culture, faith and heritage by carrying forward his thoughts and resolve.
