Haryana Governor announces Rs 2 Lakh Ex-Gratia for families of Rohtak fire victims

Chandigarh: Haryana Governor Prof. Ashim Kumar Ghosh has announced an ex-gratia grant of Rs 2 lakh each for the next of kin of those who lost their lives in the tragic fire incident that occurred in the D-Park market area of Rohtak.

The devastating blaze, which engulfed several establishments in one of the city’s oldest and busiest market areas on June 9 claimed three lives and caused extensive damage to numerous shops.

Expressing profound grief over the loss of lives, Prof. Ashim Kumar Ghosh conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for peace to the departed souls. He also wished a speedy recovery to those injured in the incident.

The Governor directed the Deputy Commissioner, Rohtak, to conduct a comprehensive assessment of the losses caused by the fire and submit a detailed report at the earliest to the government. He emphasized the need for prompt action to ensure that all affected persons receive necessary assistance and support.

Prof. Ghosh further instructed the district administration to ensure free and adequate medical treatment for all injured persons at government hospitals.
