Chandigarh: Nayab Singh Saini said that Haryana has become the first state in northern India to provide free Single Donor Platelets for dengue patients in government hospitals. He said dengue patients are also given a reimbursement of Rs. 11,000 and that 154 blood centres are currently operational across the state. The Chief Minister added that Haryana collected over 4.5 lakh units of blood against the target of 3.3 lakh units and received the Blood Donation Excellence Award from the Government of India for the second consecutive year.
Addressing a programme in Kurukshetra on the birthday of Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, the Chief Minister extended his greetings and said Manohar Lal’s life is an inspiration for all. He praised his dedication towards service, transparency, and public welfare and said organizing a blood donation camp on his birthday reflects these values. The Chief Minister also inaugurated the blood donation camp and honored blood donors with badges and certificates.
Nayab Singh Saini emphasized that blood donation is the highest form of service to humanity, as it directly helps save lives. He said the growing demand for blood in cases of accidents, surgeries, cancer, thalassemia, and hemophilia requires collective efforts from society. Urging the youth to donate blood regularly, he said the Haryana Government is committed to strengthening healthcare facilities and ensuring free blood support for patients in need.
