Sangrur: Continuing his campaign to connect with people at the grassroots level, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Monday emphasized the importance of holistic development in villages to ensure world-class civic amenities comparable to cities. Addressing the public, CM Mann highlighted that the state government is committed to improving rural infrastructure and urged citizens to actively monitor and support ongoing development projects to ensure quality execution.

CM Mann also reassured that the Punjab government has sufficient funds for development and cited efforts to repay state debts while simultaneously implementing new projects. Highlighting achievements in employment generation, education, and infrastructure, he noted that over 58,000 jobs have been created, 43,000 km of roads are under construction, and schools are being modernized. The Chief Minister also announced initiatives to provide world-class training for students, including aviation courses, aiming to make high-level jobs accessible to ordinary citizens.

Addressing governance and corruption, CM Mann praised the shift of several services online, reducing bureaucratic delays and enhancing transparency. He criticized the Centre’s decision to rename MGNREGA, stating that mere name changes do not benefit daily wage workers and urged the Union government to release the state’s rightful share of funds. CM Mann further announced the upcoming Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojna, which will provide cashless treatment up to ₹10 lakh to 65 lakh families in Punjab, reinforcing the government’s commitment to people-oriented welfare schemes.
