FWICE Revokes Non-Cooperation Directive Against Ranveer Singh Amid Don 3 Dispute

Mumbai: The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) has withdrawn its non-cooperation directive against Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh, bringing temporary relief in the ongoing controversy surrounding his exit from Don 3. The decision comes days after the actor served a legal notice to the film workers’ body over the action taken against him.

FWICE had earlier issued the directive following a complaint linked to filmmaker Farhan Akhtar and the actor’s departure from the much-anticipated franchise. The dispute reportedly stemmed from disagreements over the project, with reports suggesting that producers had sought compensation for losses incurred after Singh’s exit.

According to FWICE, the withdrawal of the directive followed mediation efforts involving industry bodies, including the Producers Guild and the Cine and TV Artistes Association (CINTAA). The federation clarified that the decision should not be viewed as a victory or defeat for either side and maintained that the move was not directly linked to the legal notice sent by the actor.

The controversy had intensified after FWICE asked its affiliated members to refrain from working with Singh, a move the actor challenged through legal channels. Industry observers had questioned the legal standing of such directives, noting that any compensation dispute would ultimately have to be settled through civil legal proceedings rather than union action alone.

With the directive now revoked, the immediate standoff appears to have eased. However, the larger dispute linked to Don 3 and the circumstances surrounding Singh’s exit from the project may continue to be addressed through discussions or legal proceedings.
