New Delhi: Dense fog and poor visibility conditions disrupted flight operations at the Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) on Tuesday, leading to the cancellation of at least 10 flights and delays affecting more than 270 others.

Airport officials said that six arriving flights and four departures were cancelled during the day as visibility dipped sharply in the early hours. Flight tracking data indicated that over 270 flights experienced delays, with departures facing an average delay of around 29 minutes.

In a statement shared on social media platform X, Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) said that visibility conditions were gradually improving but cautioned passengers that flights to certain destinations could continue to face delays.

The IGIA, one of the busiest airports in the country, handles nearly 1,300 flight movements every day. Weather-related disruptions during the winter months frequently impact flight schedules, causing inconvenience to passengers.

Airlines have advised travellers to check the latest flight status before heading to the airport as weather conditions remain variable.
