New Delhi: The investigation into the attack on Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has expanded beyond the capital, with police detaining one of the accused Rajesh’s friends from Rajkot. According to police sources, this associate had allegedly transferred money to Rajesh before the incident.
A Delhi Police team stationed in Rajkot is also set to question five more individuals whose details were recovered from the accused’s mobile phone. Statements from these people will be recorded today, while one suspect is likely to be brought to Delhi by evening for further interrogation.
Officials confirmed that at least ten people who had regular contact with Rajesh through calls and chats are currently under scrutiny. Investigators are analyzing financial transactions and digital records to determine whether Rajesh acted alone or was backed by a network.
Police sources further revealed that among Rajesh’s acquaintances being interrogated is an auto driver, who too had reportedly sent money to the accused. The probe is focusing on verifying Rajesh’s claims and establishing the motive behind the attack.
The authorities have assured that all leads are being thoroughly examined, and those involved in aiding or financing Rajesh will face strict action.
