Mohali: Popular Punjabi artist Rajvir Jawanda is battling for his life after sustaining serious injuries in a road mishap near Baddi, Himachal Pradesh. The singer-actor has been kept on ventilator support at Fortis Hospital, Mohali, for over 24 hours, and his condition remains extremely fragile.
Medical staff at Fortis revealed that Rajvir Jawanda arrived in a critical state on Saturday afternoon, following a multi-stage emergency transfer from Himachal to Panchkula and then to Mohali. He suffered severe trauma to the head and spinal region, along with a cardiac arrest en route.
Doctors have indicated that there has been no major change in his condition since he was admitted. While his vital signs, such as blood pressure, have stabilized, his overall prognosis remains uncertain. A clear assessment of his recovery path will only be made after close monitoring over the next day.
Incident Details: Attempt to Avoid Animals Led to Collision
Jawanda was reportedly on a motorcycle journey with a group of friends when the accident occurred near the Pinjore-Nalagarh stretch in Baddi. Eyewitnesses stated that two bulls were seen fighting on the road, prompting Jawanda to swerve suddenly. In the process, his bike crashed into an oncoming jeep, causing him to be thrown violently onto the road.
Locals who witnessed the crash rushed to help. He was initially taken to Shourie Hospital, where doctors noted his pulse was faint and he was unresponsive. Given the gravity of his injuries, he was referred to a civil hospital and eventually shifted to Fortis Mohali for specialized care.
