Chandigarh — IT major Infosys Ltd will expand its Mohali operations with a ₹300 crore investment, expected to generate 2,500 direct jobs and about 210 indirect opportunities, Cabinet Minister Sanjeev Arora announced on Thursday. The expansion reflects Punjab’s broader push to strengthen industry and commerce.

Infosys, which has operated in Mohali since 2017 with nearly 900 employees, will begin construction of the new project on November 5, Gurpurab. Phase 1 includes 300,000 sq ft of office and ancillary space, targeted for completion within three years after approvals. The building will aim for LEED Platinum certification.

Phase 2 will add 480,000 sq ft within five years of Phase 1 completion, subject to necessary clearances. The company said the expansion would enable it to tap into local talent while ensuring sustainable growth and stronger regional engagement.

Infosys expressed gratitude to the Punjab government, Invest Punjab, and GMADA for their support in facilitating the project.

Senior officials present at the announcement included Amit Dhaka, IAS (CEO, Invest Punjab), Sema Bansal (Vice-Chairperson, Punjab Development Council), Amol Ramesh Kulkarni (Regional Head, Infrastructure, Infosys), and Dr. Sameer Goel (Head, Branch Development Centre, Infosys).
