Chandigarh: Two seats in the Punjab Legislative Assembly have been declared vacant following the resignations of Amritsar North MLA Kunwar Vijay Pratap Singh and Sanour MLA Harmeet Singh Pathanmajra.

According to an official notification issued by the Punjab Legislative Assembly Secretariat on Monday, both legislators submitted their resignations under Article 190(3)(b) of the Constitution of India, with effect from November 1, 2026.

The resignations were accepted by the Speaker of the Punjab Legislative Assembly on November 2.

Following their acceptance, the Assembly Secretariat declared the 15-Amritsar North and 114-Sanour constituencies vacant with effect from November 2.

The vacancies follow the departure of the two MLAs from the state Assembly, leaving both constituencies without elected representatives for the time being.
