Mansa: The Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has provided X-category security to the families of Parvinder Singh Jhota and Gulzar Singh, with personnel from the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) deputed for their protection. The move comes after Union Home Minister Amit Shah recently met the families of both men, as well as the family of Bikramjit Singh from Gurdaspur.

Who Were Parvinder Singh Jhota and Gulzar Singh?

Parvinder Singh Jhota was shot dead by a chemist, according to the supplied report. Gulzar Singh died by suicide after an encounter with Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Cheema, the report stated.

The circumstances surrounding the two incidents differ, but the Centre has now extended security to both families.

CRPF Personnel Deployed for Protection

Under the arrangement, CRPF personnel have been deputed with the families of Jhota and Gulzar Singh.

X-category security is a designated security arrangement in India. The precise personnel strength and operational details of the protection provided in these cases have not been disclosed in the supplied report.

The development follows Amit Shah’s meetings with the families. Further details regarding the security arrangements and the Centre’s decision were not immediately available.
