Chandigarh: Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker S. Kultar Singh Sandhwan today paid rich tributes to the legendary revolutionary freedom fighter Shaheed-e-Azam Sardar Bhagat Singh on the occasion of his birth anniversary. The Speaker stated that the supreme sacrifice made by Shaheed Bhagat Singh to emancipate India from the clutches of tyrannical British colonial rule remains unparalleled in human history.
Exhorting the citizens, particularly the youth, the Speaker stressed that the farsighted vision and uncompromising patriotism of Shaheed Bhagat Singh continue to serve as a beacon of light for generations. He reiterated that the true homage to the national icon lies in adopting his core ideals of social justice, equality, and selfless service toward the holistic progress of the nation.
Reflecting on the historic struggle led by the legendary martyr, Speaker S. Kultar Singh Sandhwan said that “Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh did not merely fight for physical independence from foreign rule; he envisioned an egalitarian society free from exploitation and oppression. His fearlessness in the face of the gallows shook the foundations of the British Empire and ignited an unquenchable flame of freedom across the subcontinent. It is our collective duty to walk the path shown by him.”
