Chandigarh: Haryana Health Minister Arti Singh Rao has appealed to citizens to immediately visit their nearest government hospital for a regular ear and hearing check-up if they experience any kind of hearing-related problem. The State Government has made adequate facilities for hearing tests and treatment available at all government hospitals across the state.
The Health Minister said that the National Health Mission and Health Department, Haryana, are observing International Week of Deaf People from September 21 to 27, 2026. Issuing an important health advisory to the people of the state, she said that this year’s message, “Declaration of Human Rights of Deaf People”, calls for greater awareness among the public about protecting hearing ability and promoting awareness regarding hearing health.
The Health Minister urged citizens to adopt measures for proper ear care and protection. She advised people to use earplugs at concerts or places with excessive noise, never insert any sharp or external object into the ear, and keep the volume of audio devices low while avoiding exposure to loud noise.
