Chandigarh: Haryana Public Health Engineering Minister Ranbir Gangwa said that work is underway to improve the drinking water supply and wastewater disposal system in Bahalgarh village. Replying to a question raised by MLA Krishna Gahlawat during the Assembly Session, he said that works related to drinking water supply and wastewater disposal in Bahalgarh under the Chief Minister’s announcement are likely to be completed within three years.
Minister Ranbir Gangwa said that, keeping in view the substantial floating population and the urban character of the village, there is a proposal to provide drinking water supply and sewerage facilities on the lines of the Mahagram Scheme.
Ranbir Gangwa further stated that Bahalgarh falls under the jurisdiction of the Gram Panchayat and that the sewerage-related works are to be undertaken by PHED. For this purpose, the DPR for the sewerage system, including the Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) and sewer lines, is being prepared.
