Chandigarh: Haryana Public Health Engineering Minister Ranbir Gangwa said the department is taking necessary steps to further improve the drinking water supply system in Hisar city. Replying to a question raised by MLA Savitri Jindal during the Assembly Session, he said that the city’s water supply system receives water from the Bhakra Canal. Water is supplied to the city through seven canal-based waterworks.
Minister Ranbir Gangwa said that some parts of Hisar city have old pipelines in the drinking water distribution system. Problems such as leakages, pipe bursts and low water pressure are reported at some locations.
He further informed that a survey is currently underway to replace or improve the drinking water distribution network in Hisar city. The estimate is expected to be prepared within one month. Thereafter, the work will be initiated and a permanent solution to the problem will be ensured.
