Punjab Government Provides Rs.10 Lakh Insurance Cover to PESCO Employees: Mohinder Bhagat

Chandigarh: The Punjab Government, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, is fully committed to the welfare of ex-servicemen and their families and is continuously working to ensure their social and economic security. This was stated by Defence Services Welfare Minister Mr. Mohinder Bhagat while reviewing the Punjab Ex-Servicemen Corporation (PESCO) at Chandigarh today.

Giving further details, Cabinet Minister Mr. Mohinder Bhagat said that keeping in view the safety and security of all employees working under PESCO, a Rs.10-lakh insurance cover has been provided to them. He said that the government is committed to providing better security and welfare facilities to PESCO employees.

During the meeting, Managing Director Major General Harmandeep Singh briefed the Minister in detail about the employment opportunities being provided to ex-servicemen through the Corporation. He informed that more than 23,500 employees are currently serving under PESCO.

The Minister directed the officials to further improve the functioning of PESCO, create maximum employment opportunities for ex-servicemen and ensure that their issues are resolved on priority.
