Sangrur: The Sangrur district administration has officially declared a local holiday across the district on August 20 in observance of the death anniversary of Shaheed Sant Harchand Singh Longowal. The directive was formally issued by the Deputy Commissioner of Sangrur as a mark of tribute and respect to the late leader.
Under this administrative order, all public and private educational institutions, including schools and colleges, alongside government and semi-government offices throughout Sangrur district, will remain shut for the day.
The closure will not affect previously scheduled academic assessments. All board, university, and practical examinations set for August 20 will continue strictly according to their pre-announced timetables. District authorities have instructed educational institutions and examination centres to ensure the seamless conduct of all scheduled tests without disruption.
