Education Minister Conducts Surprise Inspection of Government College in Panchkula

Chandigarh: Haryana Education Minister, Sh. Mahipal Dhanda on Saturday conducted a surprise inspection of the Government College, Sector-1, Panchkula. During the visit, he inspected various facilities on the college premises and interacted directly with students. He patiently listened to their academic and basic infrastructure-related concerns and directed the college administration to take prompt steps for their resolution.

During the interaction, students apprised the Education Minister of their requirements regarding various courses, resources and basic facilities available at the college. A key demand raised by the students was the introduction of a Master of Physical Education (M.P.Ed.) course at the college.

Taking note of the demand, Sh. Mahipal Dhanda assured the students that the government would consider it positively and take necessary steps in this regard. He said that efforts would be made to facilitate the introduction of the M.P.Ed. course so that students aspiring to build careers in sports and physical education could access better opportunities locally.

Youth and Students are the Future of the Nation

Addressing the students, the Education Minister said that youth and students are the true future of any nation and its greatest source of energy. If the youth move forward in the right direction, they can bring glory not only to their families but also to the State and the country on the global stage. He urged the students to channel their energy towards constructive pursuits, stay away from drugs and other social evils, and focus on enhancing their skills and talents.

Government Committed to Quality and Employment-Oriented Education

Sh. Mahipal Dhanda said that the Haryana Government is fully committed to raising the standard of education in the State and providing youth with quality and employment-oriented education. Infrastructure in government colleges across the State is being strengthened to ensure that students have access to better academic facilities and do not face any inconvenience.

College Administration Directed to Remain Responsive to Students’ Concerns

The Education Minister directed the teaching faculty and administrative officers of the college to remain sensitive to students’ concerns and ensure a conducive academic environment on the campus. He stressed the need for regular interaction with students to identify and resolve their issues promptly.

He also directed the college administration to pay special attention to basic facilities such as cleanliness, drinking water, and the library, and to ensure that there was no neglect in their maintenance.

Meanwhile, the surprise visit and the Minister’s warm and direct interaction with the students generated considerable enthusiasm among them. The students appreciated the initiative of personally listening to their concerns and interacting with them.

Principal of the college Dr. Shailja Chhabra, senior faculty members, local administrative officials and a large number of students were present on the occasion.
